What to expect
I offer movement coaching to help you safely and successfully achieve your movement and wellness goals - no matter how old you are or how long it has been since you last exercised.
Certified as Functional Aging Specialist, NASM Personal Trainer, Z-Health Master Practitioner and Balanced Body Master Pilates Instructor, I am able to provide you with a great variety of options to customize your sessions according to your personal preferences and needs.
A typical first session consists of a conversation to get to know each other and to learn more about your movement and medical history, your challenges and your movement goals.
Assessments such as postural analysis, gait analysis, visual and balance assessments as well as movement screens will help me get an initial understanding of how to get you started on your journey to better movement.
Together we will come up with an appropriate plan to help you achieve your goals, incl. regular assessments and reassessments to assure that we are on the right track.
Subsequent sessions will always start with several relevant assessments to establish that day’s baseline.
Depending on your goals and personal preferences, your program will consist of drills and exercises using a variety of props and/or equipment - be it a wall, a mat on the floor, free weights, a Theraband, a physioball, sand bells, kettlebells, TRX, a Pilates Reformer, a CoreAlign, and more.
The most important component of your customized program is your safety: keeping you injury free while guiding you through your movement practice, and making you feel comfortable and so help you build your confidence.
Reassessments throughout your session will provide the necessary feedback to let us know whether you are getting appropriately challenged.
Providing you with an appropriate variety of different movement sequences, speeds and coordination challenges - to name just a few - will keep you engaged, challenged and progressing towards your goals.
And - I promise - you will have fun while you are doing it!
At the end of your session we will agree on a few drills for you to do as homework until your next session.
